He was driving a silver car, which was tracked by gardai as far as the border. When he crossed into Derry, the PSNI followed him to Fern Park in Galliagh.There, he abandoned the car before stealing another vehicle. A short time later, specialist fire arms officers moved in and arrested him as he hid behind another vehicle.The operation was led by Chief Inspector Andy Lemon, who says there were no shots fired, and no-one was no-one hurt. He says over 100 police officers were involved in the operation, with a substantial number of gardai also involved.One firearm was recovered at the scene, and police believe there may be another one in the car.
