‘He’s already trying to jump ship!’ Reaction to Spurs manager’s comments

first_img1 Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he would one day like to return to Paris Saint-Germain as manager. Tottenham’s Argentinian boss, 44, made over 500 career appearances as a centre-back, with over 90 of those coming in a two-year spell in the French capital. Pochettino impressed in his first job in England with Southampton, turning them into an exciting, established Premier League side in 18 months at St Mary’s. He then left for north London, overseeing a surprise title race in just his second season, where Spurs look set to miss out with Leicester closing in on the trophy. French champions PSG could be looking for a new manager in the summer, after exiting the Champions League following a quarter-final defeat to Manchester City under Laurent Blanc. Whilst he did not say he wants to go this summer, Pochettino says he still looks out for the club’s results and managing them is ‘part of my dreams’. He told RMC: “I have always said that one day it would be a pleasure to manage a big club like Paris.“I try to watch all of their games, especially in the Champions League and sometimes I speak with [PSG assistant coach] Jean-Louis Gasset. Return to Paris one day, why not?”Just days after Spurs suffered in a setback in their title hopes, their manager’s comments are interesting and, as always, football fans had something to say on Twitter.See some of the best Tweets, below: Mauricio Pochettino (centre) in his Paris Saint-Germain playing days center_img READ MORE: Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino admits it would be a ‘dream’ to manage Paris Saint-Germain ‘one day’last_img read more
