Treasury Minister Robert Jenrick today (31 August 2018) visited the Tees Valley to see how innovative local businesses in the area are helping drive the new economy. The Exchequer Secretary was in the region as part of a UK-wide tour. He met with Tees Valley mayor, Ben Houchen, to hear how the local area is benefitting from its landmark devolution deal, which included new powers over transport, skills and business support, and £450 million of extra government support. The Minister was hosted at the South Tees Development Corporation and discussions included how £123 million of funding, announced by Chancellor Philip Hammond in the 2017 Budget, would keep the former SSI steelworks site safe and pave the way to crucial regeneration. He also visited the Centre for Process Innovation, which this month received £109 million of government funding. There are currently 55,000 more people in employment in the North East than in 2010 and 18,800 more businesses. The area recently received an extra £59 million from the government’s new transforming cities fund – to improve transport links and better connect people to jobs.Speaking on the visit, Mr Jenrick said: This area has a key role to play in the new economy and by working closely with local leaders we will ensure the Northern Powerhouse continues to boost growth and productivity across the country.last_img read more

In the Special Hospital Sv. Katarina available rapid testing on COVID19. Results ready within 15 to 30 minutes!

first_imgWhat is crucial and game changer, especially for the entire tourism sector, is that test results are obtained within 15 to 30 minutes. Due to the high pressure on the entire health system, rapid testing that gives results in 30 minutes or less, depending on the amount of simultaneous tests and the number of professional staff, will certainly improve the overall situation and the pressure on health facilities. “We are aware that governments and health systems are under great pressure to increase the ability to test SARS-CoV-2 to effectively manage the spread of the virus. The high-volume antigen test is a valuable addition to the portfolio to help diagnose SARS-CoV-2 infection. The ability to quickly and correctly determine if someone has a SARS-CoV-2 infection is crucial to inform patient management decisions and to combat the spread of COVID-19. Roche remains committed to supporting governments, healthcare professionals and patients in the fight against this pandemic with the help of our diagnostic solutions Said Thomas Schinecker, CEO of Roche Diagnostics. “We are also given access to the National Database so that in case of a positive test, we can enter all positive people on SARS-CoV-2 in the database”Emphasizes Jadranka Primorac. By the way, this is a product of the pharmaceutical company Roche, The Elecsys® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen test, which according to official information from the Roche site, a highly accurate laboratory immunoassay for in vitro qualitative detection of the nucleocapsid antigen SARS-CoV-2. As I wrote in the analysis of global air traffic activation, they are needed three key prerequisites: Standardization of security protocols in airports and airlines, fast testing, ie fast obtaining of test results, and contactless thermal camera technology capable of automatically screening a large number of passengers. Photo: Sv. Catherine When we talk about the tourism sector, fast testing is certainly suitable for zračne luke, as well as for everyone passengers who want to be tested quickly and have a negative test, which is an obligation to enter most countries. The SARS-CoV-2 antigen test is an extremely valuable diagnostic test with high specificity (99.68%) and enters the family of tests that are performed in direct contact with the patient and for which results are obtained shortly after testing (Point of care tests). ). “Rapid testing has also been done for this purpose, for emergency diagnosis and triage to relieve the entire health system, it is also suitable for people who have been in contact with an infected person or have clinical symptoms. It is a test by the pharmaceutical company Roche that put the test on the market at the end of 9 months”, He points out Jadranka Primorac, dipl. oec., member of the Management Board of the Special Hospital Sv. Katarina adds that testing is also good for quickly testing tourists right at airports. Price testing is 350 kuna, and Primorac adds that rapid testing for Covid19 is done at their place in the Special Hospital Sv. Katarina in Zagreb, in a separate unit, in accordance with all security protocols.center_img Jadranka Primorac, St. Catherine’s Special Hospital: Rapid testing was done with the aim of relieving the entire health system Rapid testing is a major challenge for the global recovery of tourism, as well as one of the three key elements for air traffic activation. / / / ACTIVATION OF AIR TRAFFIC IS KEY TO THE RECOVERY OF TOURISM, AND FOR THIS THERE ARE THREE PREREQUISITES Photo cover: Polina Tankilevitch, Pexels.com, Sv. Katarina / Illustration: HrTurizam.hr Special Hospital Sv. Katarina was the first in Croatia to make it possible on the market quick test to test on Covid19, which gives results for 15 to 30 minutes. The St. Catherine’s Polyclinic points out that the prices of the tests are 350 kuna, and for all inquiries about the tests you can contact them. HERE Regarding the standardization of security protocols as well as the introduction of contactless thermal camera technology at airports, final negotiations are already underway under the leadership of International Air Transport Association (IATA)) and it is a matter of months, if not weeks, when they will be agreed. On the other hand, a couple of global companies from the USA and Israel have also released quick tests for testing on Covid19, and now Roche has joined them. What is certain is that in the coming months, rapid testing will be made possible globally, which is important for the activation of the tourism sector. The Elecsys SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Immunoassay works on all immunochemical analyzers that are widely available worldwide. These fully automated systems can provide test results in about 18 minutes for a single test (excluding sample collection, transport, and preparation time), with a throughput of up to 300 tests per hour from a single analyzer. The aforementioned laboratory-automated antigen test allows for reduced costs and errors due to the removal of manual handling, as well as fast turning and high throughput, according to official Roche information. last_img read more
