West New York teacher arrested for alleged drug possession

first_imgEAST RUTHERFORD — Officers arrested a West New York school teacher Dec. 4 for alleged drug possession, per a press release from the East Rutherford Police Department.After an investigation at his apartment Nov. 29, officers charged Kenneth Furlong, 24, with multiple offenses. They include second-degree crime possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, second degree crime possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana over 50 grams. Furlong turned himself in to East Rutherford police Dec. 4, the release said. He was transported to Bergen County Jail for a central judicial processing hearing.The ERPD said in the release that he is “employed by the West New York Board of Education (Memorial High School) and he turned himself in to ERPD with his attorney John Lynch.”The ERPD is continuing its investigation.When reached by phone, the district said it had “no comment” regarding Furlong’s future as a teacher.last_img read more
